Today we met everyone for breakfast at 7:50 in the cafeteria. The food was alright, but there was a lot of confusion getting in lines and all our food. After breakfast we walked to the bus stop and arrived to the college site we were studying at.
Em having a BLAST on the bus.

In the Newman House, the name of they building we were studying James Joyce in, be met our discussion leaders and listened to two lectures. The first lecture was about The Dead  in Joyce's book "Dubliners". The main point of her lecture was based on how history plays a large roll in the short story. After a nice tea break, we engaged in another lecture based more on the idea of intimidation "Ulysses" brings to a lot of readers, and the idea that you should look at Joyce's writing with an open mind. Dr Yared, the second speaker, had many images and was so kind to share with us her own personal post cards that were sent during the making of "Ulysses". Our stomachs grumbling, we got a two hour break for lunch.
Newman House, where Joyce attended school as well!

In the time span we had to roam around for lunch, everyone in the group went in their own direction (staying close of course). It was very nice outside and being surrounded by a lot of shops, many people were also round and about. It allowed us to come in contact with the locals and learn time management.
Many of us hung in St. Stephen's Green, right across from Newman House, for our lunch.

We concluded the school day with seminars based on the book we each individually chose to study. It was inserting to hear all different opinions offered based on just one section of  James Joyce's writing. After fueling our brains it was time fuel our tummy's. The group went to The Farm Restaurant for a delicious appetizer, main meal, and desert. YUM! Ready for another fun filled day tomorrow. :)
